Research Interests

In my DPhil I hope to explore the role that dung beetles play in secondary seed dispersal and the influence they have on plant regeneration. I will be focusing on the effects that defaunation can have on dung beetle species assemblages, and how this can influence seed germination in tropical forests. Leading on from this work, I hope to explore the functional traits behind the interactions between dung beetles and the seeds they disperse, with the aim to improve understanding of the mechanisms of secondary seed dispersal.
