Research Interests

My research interests explore the interplay between ecology, evolution, and conservation science, to address questions about the impacts of anthropogenic threats to the persistence of biodiversity in tropical island ecosystems. I mainly focus on the mechanisms that lead stable populations to decline. Prior to the start of my DPhil, I finished an MSc in Ecological Management and Conservation Biology at Queen’s University Belfast, funded by the UK – FCDO Chevening Scholarship. For my MSc project, I investigated the spatial links between tropical cyclone devastation and extinction risks and declines among Philippine tetrapod vertebrates.
